Our Values: Curiosity

“What dis, Daddy?” is one of my 2-year-old daughter’s favorite questions.

Kiddos model curiosity for us. They love nothing more than to learn and explore! Curiosity is engrained in our lives: we check whether it’s going to rain today and ask a friend how they’re doing.

Curiosity is also inseparable from experiencing music. When we listen to music, our brains can’t stop wondering. We consider what we’ll hear next, what the song means, who created it, and how they decided on these instruments or sounds.

We bring curiosity to our work in music therapy and music lessons by…

  1. Seeking to learn about the inner world of our clients. We believe our clients are the experts of themselves and are always curious to learn more. Music can serve as a shared “language” for this conversation.

  2. Building connection. A curious attitude allows us to form relationships with our clients. We learn more about one another and how to relate through curiosity.

  3. Exploring ways to address goals together. Using a curious approach, we collaborate with our clients and students to choose the next right goals and objectives.

Curious to learn more? We’d be happy to talk through your situation together. Take a look at our services and upcoming events, and contact us with questions. We are curious to hear from you!

Warmly,

- Caleb and the Wildwood Team
