Melody Makers and Masterpieces: Ukulele, Songwriting, and Arts Camp

LOCATION:

The Bright Spot (new location), 2109 Cornerstone Dr. Lexington, KY 40509

DESCRIPTION:

Ukulele: Campers will learn and practice basic ukulele chords and strum patterns as an ensemble using familiar and fun music. This camp is designed for beginner through intermediate players — no experience is required. All instruments needed for camp will be provided. 

Creative Arts (songwriting and art): Campers will experiment with songwriting by crafting lyrics, melodies, and musical ideas of their own. They’ll also bring those songs to life through a variety of art activities (drawing, painting, and mixed media creations). It’s a joyful blend of music, art, and imagination.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Campers should bring a snack and a water bottle.

• Campers may go outside for movement breaks; please send sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.

• Wildwood Music Therapy and The Bright Spot strive to be inclusive and accessible, but we are unable to provide 1:1 assistance during camp. If your child has a 1:1 assistant at school or for ADLs (such as toileting, eating), or is prone to elopement, an aid is required during their participation in camp. We are unable to accommodate individuals who demonstrate aggression or may be a risk to themselves or others.

POLICIES:

By purchasing, you agree to the following:

Refund: Cancellations within 30 days of the camp start date are non-refundable. Before that date, registrations may be refunded minus a $50 non-refundable deposit.

Drop-off/Pick-up: Participants must be dropped off and picked up at the Wildwood offices inside the building by an authorized adult. Options are available for early drop off and late pick up for an additional charge.

Allergies: Camper allergies may restrict the types of snacks you may send with your child.
