Kids Ukulele Camp

LOCATION:

Wildwood Music Therapy, 2375 Professional Heights Dr. Ste 134 (Room B+C), Lexington, KY 40503

DESCRIPTION:

This camp will mostly utilize basic ukulele chords (especially C, F, G, and Am) and strum patterns and is designed for beginner through intermediate ukulele players. Participants will have the opportunity to practice music concepts and learn popular and familiar songs on the ukulele. Instruments needed for camp will be provided. Instruction will include strengths-based exploratory, multisensory, and creative learning strategies. Other camp activities will include creative arts-based activities and opportunities for socialization and connection building with group members. Camp will take place mostly inside the Wildwood offices, but weather permitting, campers will have movement breaks outside as well. Participants will have an opportunity to perform when camp is over (details TBD). Class will be limited to 6 participants.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Campers should bring a snack and a water bottle.

• Campers may go outside for movement breaks; please send sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.

• Wildwood strives to be inclusive and accessible, but we are unable to provide 1:1 assistance during camp. If your child has a 1:1 assistant at school or for ADLs (such as toileting, eating), or is prone to elopement, please reach out to us by phone or email to discuss how we might be able to provide accommodations.

POLICIES:

By purchasing, you agree to the following policies:

• Refund: Cancellations within 30 days of the camp start date are non-refundable. Before that date, registrations may be refunded minus a $50 non-refundable deposit.

• Drop-off/Pick-up: Participants must be dropped off and picked up at the Wildwood offices inside the building by an authorized adult. Early drop-off may be available for an additional charge - contact by phone or email if you’re interested in this option.

• Allergies: Camper allergies may restrict the types of snacks you may send with your child.
